Bermuda Sands Golf Apparel Review

New Colors and Designs for Spring 2017

Bermuda Sands has been one of my favorite golf apparel companies for a couple of years now. The problem is that for guys, they only do polo shirts and a few outerwear pieces. Ladies have more options: short sleeves, sleeveless, skorts and outerwear. I’m hoping one day soon, they will offer men’s and ladies shorts, pants and capris, but for now, I’ll just have to stick with their great looking polos.

Their Spring 2017 Collection is no disappointment. In the past, I’ve seen primarily solid colors and heathers. The color selection over the past couple of years has been adequate, but this spring’s palette seem to really pop. For example, the Men’s Streak Polo comes in several vibrant colors including Peri Blue, Surf Green, Magenta and Steel Gray and is available in sizes S-3XL. It’s made from a technical fabric that offers UV protection with a UPF of 15+ and wicks moisture away from the skin and to the surface for quick evaporation. The back panel and sleeves are gray and the front panel also features a stripe design on each shoulder, which creates a great optical effect. The Bermuda Sands logo is emblazoned on the back, between the shoulder blades. Retail price for the Streak Polo is $75, although I’ve already seen it in some sites for as low as $60.

As I mentioned, ladies have a little more to choose from and my wife chose the Corrie Skort, crafted from Bermuda Sands XP fabric. XP has been the company’s flagship fabric for a few years and possesses several worthwhile technical attributes. First and most importantly for the ladies, it offers a little bit of stretch, so it won’t pinch or bind in places where it shouldn’t, when it shouldn’t. It also has great moisture wicking capabilities and keeps you dry, even in the hottest conditions. The added UV protection keeps you shielded from the sun’s harmful rays and the anti-microbial finish keeps you smelling fresh. The Orange/Pink/Black floral design is eye-catching while the two front and one back pockets provide ample room to carry a woman’s essentials. The wide waistband offers some extra stretch as well. The Corrie Skort is available in sizes XS-2XL and retails for $73.00.

The go-with top for the Corrie Skort is the Lana, which features a self-collar trimmed in floral material and a zipped placket. Three-inch strips of floral material are sewn in on each side and the bottom of the garment is hemmed with a vent on either side. The Lana top is made from the same material and has the same fabric technologies. It’s available in sizes XS-2XL and retails for $73.00.

One of the things that separates Bermuda Sands from other apparel companies is that they manufacture their own products. That gives them complete control of the process, from design and conception to finished goods. What that means to you, the consumer is A-one craftsmanship and a price point that will allow you to play a little nicer course next time. This is golf apparel that can stand the test of time; after all, they’ve been doing it for more than three generations.
