Company

Bionic is a division of the family-owned Hillerich & Bradsby, Co., which is based in Louisville, Ky. Some of the other H&B divisions include PowerBilt, maker of golf clubs since 1916, and Louisville Slugger, the most famous brand of baseball and softball bats and equipment in the world.

Bionic-aqua
Bionic has been at the forefront of glove technology in many sports for more than a decade: golf, baseball, hockey, fitness (weightlifting), tennis, racquetball, equestrian events and so on. Bionic Gloves have received numerous awards and recognition, including the National Home Gardening Club Seal of Approval, the National Health & Wellness Club Seal of Approval, the Handyman’s Club of America Member Tested Seal of Approval and the PGA Tour Partners Magazine Member Tested Seal of Approval.

Recently, Bionic introduced two new gloves to its already strong lineup of golf gloves – the RelaxGrip and the AquaGrip.

RelaxGrip

The RelaxGrip provides added comfort on every golf swing, thus instilling more confidence. The high quality Cabretta leather palm incorporates a patented pad system which evens out the surface of the hand for great feel and a more relaxed grip. The double-row finger grip system delivers unmatched stability in areas that are prone to wear and tear, while the synthetic back offers increased durability.

The Bionic RelaxGrip golf glove also features Lycra motion and web zones that expand the hand’s range of motion as well as providing added comfort. It is the perfect glove for golfers who suffer from mild arthritis as the pre-rotated finger design complements the natural closing pattern of the hand.

I found that after putting it on, my hand was immediately in a relaxed position. The RelaxGrip glove allows you to release the death grip you previously had and swing with a much lighter grip. You no longer have to worry about the club slipping out of your hands and flying off into some unparalleled universe or worse yet; that lake in front of you.

The new RelaxGrip glove comes with a 60 day warranty against manufacturers’ defects.

Aqua Grip

The new Bionic AquaGrip Glove is made using the very best materials and manufacturing processes available. Although it costs a little more than most gloves on the market, it can easily last 2-3 times longer than traditional gloves, making it a great value for the money. Plus, the Bionic AquaGrip Glove can be hand or machine washed (mild detergent, cold water, gentle cycle, no bleach, air dry), making it an even better value.

The glove is made out of a suede microfiber which actually performs better in wet conditions and becomes tackier when wet, reducing club slippage. It’s the perfect glove for those wet, Florida summers.

The pre-rotated finger design and Lycra motion and web zones make this one of the most comfortable gloves that you will ever wear. These motion zones and web zones are located over the knuckles and between the fingers and not only help to promote natural movement, they let your hands ‘breathe” as well. The AquaGrip also has the double row finger grip system which promotes a lighter, more stable grip.

An orthopedic hand surgeon has designed anatomical relief pads into the Bionic AquaGrip Glove to help prevent the clubface from twisting at the moment of contact and increase swing speed. This helps to improve accuracy and increase distance.

Last Word: from the moment I slipped the Bionic Relax Grip glove on, I found that it immediately made my hand bend into a relaxed position. The pads in the fingers really help to set your grip and force you to put the club where it belongs in your fingers. The same with the padded areas in the palm. I give it part of the credit for the lower scores I have been shooting the last several weeks.

The AquaGrip glove is truly unique. When the palm gets wet, it becomes tacky. This eliminates club slippage on those wet days. The AquaGrip also has the pads in the finger and the palm. Oh, and it’s not white, like just about every other glove on the market today. I have put both of them through the washing machine and they come clean and return to an almost new state.

Bionic gloves are now being carried by many of the national golf retailers, both online and brick and mortar. They cost a little more than most Cabretta leather gloves but when you figure in the fact that they can be machine washed over and over and there is padding in the places that are most likely to wear though, they all of a sudden become a good value.
