What do Patrick Reed, Pat Perez, Thomas Bjorn and Sandra Gal all have in common? For one thing, they are all part of Team Callaway Apparel. Another thing they have in common is that they all look good during the round.

2nd photo shoot 403 (2)Callaway Golf Apparel is a division of Perry Ellis International, Inc. This year, Callaway Apparel line has introduced a new line of features, known as the Opti-Series. This technology is designed to offer unprecedented levels of comfort and performance that golfers are looking for. The Opti-Series features use technology advancements that help Callaway’s apparel line achieve an optimal balance of technology and aesthetically appealing design. Each of these features is designed to give golfers the most in golf performance. Here’s a quick rundown of each:

Opti-Dri – a moisture wicking technology that transfers moisture away from the body and aids in rapid evaporation, allowing the garment to dry faster and stay drier longer.

Opti-Cool – cooling factors in the fabric that transfer heat away from the body, keeping the golfer cool.

Opti-Shield – a layer of UPF protection woven directly into the fabric.

Opti-Stretch – interwoven layers of flexible fabrics, which produce an unhindered range of motion, allowing golfers to maximize their comfort throughout the full entire swing.

Opti-Vent – fabrics designed with ventilation to provide maximum breathability and comfort in warmer weather.

Opti-Genic – a finish that reduces odor and maintains a garment’s durability over time.

Opti-Repel – creates a barrier of protection from inclement weather that is resistant to both wind and water.

Opti-Therm – provide golfers a thermal layer designed to help withstand cold in all elements.

Opti-Soft – designed to optimize the feel and comfort of a garment without compromising its performance.

All of these features are the result of coordinated research, planning and design efforts and the culmination of years of experience which is expected from one of the leading brands in the sport of golf. Callaway has long been associated with excellence, performance and innovation, and the Opti-Series exceeds these goals by infusing the golf apparel industry with progressive technologies and an unsurpassed commitment to quality.

saddlebrook 038Callaway was gracious enough to send us some samples to review. We looked at men’s and women’s polos, shorts, pants and outerwear. The Tech Plaid shorts feature Opti-Dry and Opti-Shield technologies and are available in everything from a 30 – 42 waist. This 100% polyester garment features a button closure and a zip fly with the Callaway’ trademark Chevron logo embroidered above the right back pocket. The no –slip gripper waistband makes sure the garment stay where it should throughout the entire round. Currently they are only available in Enamel Blue – which is actually a good looking plaid – and are priced on the website for $75.

These shorts pair nicely with the Callaway Opti-Dry polo, which is available in almost 20 colors (including Enamel Blue) and sizes S – XXL. This garment is also 100% polyester with a 2 button placket. My polo featured the Callaway Tour logo on the left sleeve and a rubber Chevron logo on the back of the color. Opti-Dry means you will be dry all day. Pair this polo with the Tech Dry short and you’ll have a golf outfit that will make any Miami Dolphin jealous! The Opti-Dry polo is available on their website for $20 – $50.

Other polos we looked at were the Cloud Polo, featuring both Opti-Dri and Opti-Shield technology, providing both moisture wicking as well as a layer of protection against the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. This 100% polyester garment is only available in bright white and features a unique print on the upper body and a ribbed collar. The Chevron trademark is on the left sleeve. Retail price on www.CallawayGolfApparel.com is $75.

The Hawkeye Polo is most impressive; a chambray-inspired style paired with cutting-edge performance features, most notably the Opti-Dri moisture management technology. It’s 100% polyester with a 3 button placket. The Chevron logos on the center back collar and inside placket, and the contrast stitching are a nice touch, making it the perfect choice for both the course or the clubhouse. This polo can be found online for anywhere from $30 – $55.

Perhaps my favorite garment are the Chevron Flat-Front pants. These 100% polyester pants are very comfortable and the sizing is great, as it is with all of the products we received. These pants have a button closure and zip fly and the Chevron logo is embroidered above the back right pocket. It also has a snap closure which is nice. Living in Florida, I don’t have the opportunity to wear long pants that much but when I do, there are the go-to pair! They retail for around $70.

On the women’s side, the Chev skort allows the ladies to enjoy the look of a skirt with the comfort of a short. Now you don’t have to compromise on comfort or performance. This garment is 100% polyester and offers moisture wicking and mechanical stretch, as well as belt loops, a tee holder and Callaway’s trademarked Chevron above the back pocket. The outer skirt is 18″ in length, and liner shorts are seamless. This skort can be purchased online for around $40.

The Mystical Plaid Short is 100% polyester made from DuPont Sorona, a renewably sourced fiber. It features both Opti-Dry and Opti-Shield technology, giving this garment exceptional softness and extra stretch. It too has belt loops sized to add any suitable Callaway belt, and the Chevron logo above the back right pocket gives this garment a special look. Retail is $75.

The Callaway women’s collection also features a Piped Sleeveless Polo that is 100% polyester and uses the Opti-Shield technology. It has princess seams and a ribbed collar with an embroidered Chevron located in the center back collar. This polo retails for $55 and comes in 8 colors.

Golfers who are passionate about the game, will quickly recognize the passion that Callaway has about putting together a high quality line golf apparel. This is true for each piece in the collection: polos, pants, shorts, skirts and outerwear. These Callaway garments our offer unique designs and an unparalleled combination styles and features that all golfers need in order to stay comfortable and play well in all types of weather conditions.
