The most interesting change in the G430 irons is the PurFlex badge which is comprised of seven zones each flexing slightly differently. Usually the cavity badge is a single piece, but Ping’s version serves to aid ball speed over the entire face and give a more solid feel. A new heat-treating method made the G430 face both thinner, allowing for additional flex, and stronger for better rebound at impact.

A High Launch or HL version is available on special order for slower swing speed golfers. The components, a Ping Alta Quick 35/45 shaft, Lamkin UTx Lite grip 41g and reduced weight in toe and heel mean more ball speed and distance.

Following the rest of the club market Ping has increased the selling cost of the G430s almost $30 per club which puts them still in the middle of the range of pricing.
