Greg NormanBuilt upon a unique combination of performance and design, Greg Norman’s Shark brand was introduced in 1992 and has been growing ever since. The Greg Norman collection is a leading worldwide marketer of golf-inspired sportswear for men and women and includes a complete collection of men’s and women’s shirts, shorts, skorts, polos and outerwear layering as well as business-casual . Their target market is active men and women, ages 35 to 55. The Collections include the latest in moisture-wicking “Play Dry” technology and combines a unique blend of performance, luxury, and style not seen in other golf apparel brands.

The Greg Norman Collection has developed several new technologically advanced fabrics in both their men’s and women’s garments. Here is a breakdown of a few:

PLAY DRY, one of the garment industry’s leading moisture management systems. Play Dry technology transports moisture away from the skin and moves it to the garment’s outer layer where it eventually evaporating into the air. As a result, you stay comfortable, cool, and dry.

normanML75 garments include a natural UPF (50+) with no chemical additives and moisture wicking technology. Not only are these garments wrinkle resistant and easy to care for, they are also 30% lighter than the average golf shirt, which is nice in the hot Florida weather.

2° BELOW is a fabric that cools the body by 2 degrees and incorporates all of the moisture wicking and UPF features of their Play Dry and ML75 technology.

Dri-Release is typically seen in women’s wear and utilizes all of the above features and adds in freshguard odor control. This fabric also has a luxurious feel.

Performance Tri-Blend is a breathable fabric that stretches comfortably without any pinching or binding. It too has a luxurious feel.

Greg Norman Collection PicWeatherknit polos feature an aerated knit for better airflow and increased circulation keeping the body cooler and protection from overheating.

Epic is a fabric that is guaranteed waterproof and windproof for life and is three times more breathable than any other water or windproof product on the market today. No matter what the conditions, the Epic fabric dries within minutes and offers uncompromised comfort.

To me, Greg Norman Collection has always been the leader in bright, colorful apparel and outside-the-box graphics. This seems to be evident more so in the men’s collection, with prints like the Far East, Norwegian and Copenhagen Polos. These colorful fabrics can also be seen in the Greg Norman collection’s shorts and outerwear such as the Tattersall shorts. His collections always seem to feature a lot of stripe and for 2014, they are very eye catching.

The garments I reviewed were the ML75 polo and Play Dry shorts from the Shanghai Shores collection. These garments and well-constructed and, after being washed at least twenty times, look as good as the day they arrived. The wrinkle free material make caring for these garments simple and easy.
