Katherine Way has taken on the challenge that every female golfer faces: can you really look good, feel good, and stay cool on the golf course, all at the same time? Way’s answer is “Yes you can!” Living in a golf community has several advantages, especially when you work in the golf industry. One of the advantages is being able to get feedback from other golfers on many of the things we write about: golf equipment, apparel and footwear. My wife has spoken with many of the women golfers here about fashion and their comments echo the same sentiments: How can I wear the hottest new styles and colors while staying comfortable in the summer heat. And, since we live in Florida, there is a lot of concern about sun protection as well.

Katherine Way’s new fall collection has found a way to address all of these issues and meet the needs of every woman golfer. For starters, her designs are elegant for any occasion and have the perfect fit, feel and style to be worn anywhere, on any day. Whether it’s a day at the office, lunch with the ladies or a day on the links, Katherine Way’s got you covered.

The fabrics in Katherine Way’s garments work to keep you dry and in control. They are all very breathable and help to keep you cool by wicking moisture away from the body quickly and effectively. All of the fabrics are certified to be 50+ SPF, keeping you safe from the sun’s harmful SUV rays. Equally important is that these garments travel well; they are pill free and wrinkle resistant. They look as good when you take them out of the suitcase as you did spending all that time fussing and folding when you put them in. And they save you energy, just machine wash them and then lay them out; you’ll be surprised at how fast they dry.

The sample pieces we received from her first visit to the PGA Show in Orlando a couple of years ago was undoubtedly the most colorful collection we had ever had the privilege to write about. Katherine’s new fall collection is equally as stunning with even more vibrant colors and eye catching patterns. To quote some of the models we photographed: “This is the softest, most comfortable outfit I have ever had on my body.” Another said: “I could easily play golf in this dress and wear it straight to lunch at the clubhouse”.

katherine-way4Caring for these garments is easy. My wife has washed one of the dresses a few times and still it comes out of the dryer wrinkle free and ready to wear as though you had just removed the tags for the first time.

Katherine Way’s Seaside Dress is sleeveless and offers a cut that is fit to flatter most women. This dress transitions well from daywear to evening wear and the rounded neckline produces a classic and lovely look that the majority of women favor. The Seaside Dress is available in sizes XS – XXL and in several patterns including Ribbons Candy in Turquoise/Navy and Lattice Black prints. Retail price is $195.

The Drape Neck Blouse goes well with just about any bottom that Katherine Way offers. The length is slightly shorter than some of her other tunics and fits more like a traditional blouse. It presents a clean and sophisticated look and pairs well with a jacket or sweater on those cool nights. The cowl neck produces a stunning look across the chest that may just have you mistaken for the rich and famous! The Drape Neck Blouse is available in sizes XS – XXL and in several solid colors and brilliant patterns. Retail price is $143.

Both the Hatteras and Nola Tunics are based on Katkatherine-way2herine Way’s best-selling NOLA styles. They feature a smart collared V-neck which adds a touch of sophistication as well as a long cut in the body with a 3” slit on each side. The Hatteras Tunic is sleeveless making it fun for just about any occasion, while the Nola Tunic offers a ¾ sleeve, perfect for chilly daytime offices or cool evenings. Both tunics are available in sizes XS -XL and in several solid colors and patterns. Retail price is $150.

Every great top needs a bottom, and we saw a couple we really liked. Take for instance, the Park Avenue Palazzo Pants. They are available in a number of prints, but we preferred one print way above the rest. This Swirl Blue print combines accents of royal blue, coral and periwinkle, all on a white background. The nylon and Spandex material in thekatherine-way1 legs is breathable and quickly wicks away all moisture. It is silky smooth to the touch and perfect for just about every season and the 2-inch elastic waistband just adds to the comfort. The Park Avenue Palazzo Pants have no pockets, so they provide a very flattering look. There are a number of prints available including Trellis Black/Tan and Braid Emerald/Navy, ranging in sizes from XS – XXL. Retail price is $175.

Also worth mentioning is the Sawgrass Shorts, which could easily become a gal’s go to shorts, especially if she’s a golfer! The 7” inseam gives them more of a Bermuda look, while the 50+ SPF keeps you well protected from the sun. On the course, the moisture wicking properties will keep you cool under the hottest conditions (i.e. missing that 2-foot putt for birdie), while the 2-way stretch fabric eliminates any pinching and binding through your golf swing. The Sawgrass Shorts feature two front pockets that are easy to slide your hands in and out of and an elastic waistband which makes them easy to take on and off. They are easy to care for and travel well. The Sawgrass Shorts are available in sizes XS-XXL and in a multitude of patterns including Wildflowers Plum/Navy and Medallion Black. Retail price is $150.

To say that “Katherine has done it again” with her Fall 2016 collection doesn’t quite seem to cover it, but indeed she has by creating yet another impressive collection. The Katherine Way Collection is 100% American; all fabrics are made in the USA and assembled here as well. If you’re a lady who doesn’t have the supermodel body (anymore) who is looking for some colorful and exciting apparel for both on and off the course, take a look at the Katherine Way Collection. She also has a new line strictly for golf coming out soon. For more information or to place an online order, the URL is www.katherineway.com.
