Miura’s Newest – The MB-101

2918

Miura Golf’s founder Katsuhiro Miura began forging irons in 1957 and since been responsible for some of the clubs most sought by players at every level but most especially by better players looking for that elusive combination of looks and performance. Just announced is their newest iron the MP-101 model, the first pure blade from Miura Golf since 2013 and father Katsuhiro was joined by sons Shinei and Yoshitaka in the design.

“This is a model of which the entire Miura family can be proud,” said Shinei Miura. “My father is as passionate about the MB-101 as any club he has ever designed. Our hope is that it will be recognized as one of the finest irons our factory has ever produced and will remain in our model lineup for years to come.”

Perhaps the best explanation of the uniqueness and high standards Miura makes clubs is the refusal to introduce a new model simply to follow a market or sales trend. The Miuras take pride in crafting new designs “solely at the pace of inspiration.”

The MB-101s started with Shinei and Yoshitaka spending six years deconstructing the club down to the simplest elements then rebuilding with the goal of optimizing performance and playability while maintaining the confidence-inspiring look at address of previous Miura models. Compared with the older MB-001 model the sole and clubface are slightly thicker which helped redistribute weight throughout the set plus the transition from head to hosel is smoother.

“Miura’s reputation is centered on its history of crafting exceptional, championship-caliber blade irons, and the MB-101 continues that legacy,” said Hoyt McGarity, President of Miura Golf. “The MB-101 reminds us that, for the golfer seeking legendary feel and maximum workability, Miura remains the best forged blade on the market.”
