NYX Sunglasses – A Pioneer in Golf Eyewear

NYX has been designing eye catching (pun intended) eyewear since 1994. They designed the first complete vision system exclusively for golfers. They are also a favorite among driving and snow skiing enthusiasts, as well as tennis and baseball players. NYX has also been chosen by several NFL equipment managers and NCAA athletes as part of their equipment.

The NYX Specialized Vision System is designed around several factors that face sports enthusiasts every day – backgrounds, indoor or outdoor lighting environments and corrective eyewear needs.

ALL NYX sunglasses maximize comfort and feel during active play. Some are built with interchangeable lenses to help separate the target from different environments. Others feature single lens or support Photochromic Chrysalis lens technologies that will adapt by getting lighter or darker due to variable lighting conditions.

Additional features like rubber nose pads, ear tips and a bendable frame, help hold the sunglass to the face while enjoying activities such as golfing, skiing, fishing, shooting and motorsports.

NYX Pro Z17

One of NYX’s newest models is the NYX Pro Z17. The new Pro Z17 series offers the latest in sunglasses technology. These incredible sunglasses offer the ultimate protection. Some of the features of the Pro Z17 include:

  • 100% UVA/UVB Protection
  • Secure, comfortable fit using torsion reflex technology, which allows for extended, all purpose wear
  • Quality “optical grade” lenses made from lightweight, impact-resistant polycarbonate material
  • Lenses that are quick and easy to change
  • A 600 denier carrying case with zipper and hook
  • Microfiber cleaning pouch included with each pair
  • Three interchangeable lenses specially designed to provide unobstructed, crisp vision in any playing conditions.

As I mentioned, each pair of NYX Pro Z17 sunglasses comes with three sets of lenses. To offer more variety, the three sets of lenses are available as part of three separate “series;” the Amber Series, The Traditional Series and the Gradient Series.

The Amber Series: The Amber Series consists of 3 amber (brown) tinted lenses possessing visible light transmission values of 12%, 36%, and 87% respectively. The Amber Series is designed for golfers that prefer a lens that blocks a high percentage of blue light. Blue light is at the dark end of the visible light spectrum and is the most difficult light to focus, especially as the eye ages. These lenses improve contrast by accentuating the brighter colors, especially green.

The Traditional Series: The Traditional Lens Series consists of the Deflector (dark gray), the Neutralizer (medium gray) and the Luminator (yellow). These lenses allow in 12%, 36%, and 87% of visible light respectively. Gray lenses transmit light evenly allowing the wearer to see colors as they naturally occur. Yellow lenses block a high percentage of blue light, increasing contrast in low or flat light. The Deflector is designed for bright, mid day conditions, the Neutralizer for partly cloudy days and for golfers that wear hats, and the Luminator for cloudy and low light conditions.

The Gradient Series: The Gradient Series consists of gray, amber, and clear gradient lenses. A gradient lens provides the glare protection of a darker lens with the visual clarity of a lighter lens by blocking more light across the top portion of the lens than in the viewing area. The gray gradient provides maximum glare control with minimal color shift. The amber gradient provides moderate glare control with contrast enhancement. The clear gradient provides minimal glare control with absolute clarity in the viewing area.

For corporations interested in customization on the cases and frames for events, gifts and/or functions, please contact NYX directly via phone or through their website, www.NYXGolf.com and let them know your specifics. They can even help with the design if they need to.
