Oakley Sliver Sunglasses Review

A New Take on an Old Look

Oakley has done wonders with their new lineup of golf sunglasses. With the Sliver, they’ve taken a timeless, Wayfarer-like design and added their own touches. For starters, they’ve lightened things up with their durable yet gravity-defying O Matter™ frame material which protects against high-velocity and high-mass impact. Their Three-Point Fit eliminates pressure points that are common with frames that hook around the ears and the sculptural reliefs on the earstems make these shades Ideal for everyday wear.

What really sets these sunglasses apart are the lenses. Sliver features Oakley’s new PRIZM lenses, a revolutionary new lens technology that fine-tunes vision for specific sports and environments. Prizm lenses provide unprecedented control of light transmission resulting in colors precisely tuned to maximize contrast and enhance visibility. These sunglasses actually help

you to see every break in the green. The Plutonite lens material maximizes clarity and blocks 100% of UVA, UVB, UVC, and blue light. Sliver also features patented High Definition Optics (HDO), technologies that allow Oakley eyewear to meet or exceed standards of clarity, visual fidelity, and impact resistance.

So much for the technology side of things, the big question is: Will they help me on the golf course? The answer is a resounding yes! Not only are

these glasses comfortable, they keep your eyes relaxed during your round. I found that I had less putts and could read the greens better. I highly recommend them for golf. Retail price is $150.

Crafted with, The Hazardous Golf Shorts are made from a 65% Nylon/30% Polyester/5% Spandex stretch twill fabric that moves with you through every phase of your swing. They feature Oakley’s O Hydrolix Technology which wicks moisture away from the skin and moves it to the outer surfaces of the garment so it can evaporate quickly. This protects you from overheating in hot weather and getting the chills in colder weather. The 12” inseam also provides good coverage. No complaining about pocket space with The Hazardous Golf Shorts. In addition to the two deep front pockets that will keep your valuables safe and secure, and the two back pockets that are large enough for any scorecard, there’s also a media pocket on the right leg, that will hold a smartphone or iPod. Run the headphone wires up your leg and under your Rebel Golf Polo and listen to your favorite tunes, while at the same time drowning out your partner’s whines about missing that three-foot putt. Signature details on a tailored design add touches of modern athletic style to these streamlined Oakley golf shorts. The contrasting color pocket welts on the back and media pockets add a nice touch.
