Sligo Golf Apparel1 The roots of Sligo Wear can be traced back to 2004 when four ambitious friends and avid golfers recognized a need for more fashionable golf apparel. Their goal was to create a brand that set the standards for golf fashion trends by producing quality apparel with cutting edge materials.

Sligo Wear brings together the trends and fits of North America and European fashion with the apparel technology a golfer needs. By applying an “outfits” approach to our design philosophy Sligo allows golfers to express their own individuality both on the golf course and take the guesswork out of matching pieces. Their progressive style and aggressive use of color makes even the most mundane golfer fashionable. PGA Tour Professional Try Merritt is the latest touring pro to be sporting Sligo apparel which includes, polos, sweaters, jackets, shorts, pants, belts, socks and hats.

We had the opportunity to review a few pieces of apparel from Sligo:

Sligo Golf Apparel2The Benson Polo uses Sligo’s 100% polyester interlock fabric sublimation print on chest. This SligoTech performance fabric features a heat transfer system as well as excellent moisture wicking capabilities and an antimicrobial agent, so you’ll be dry and fresh as a daisy even after your round. The mechanical stretch fabric moves with you through the entire golf swing with no pinching or binding and the UV protection in the fabric keeps you protected from the sun’s harmful rays. The Benson Polo features a 4-button placket and the self-collar comes to some nice points giving it a distinguished look. The Sligo name is stamped on the back of the neck and there is also an embroidered logo on the left sleeve, leaving little doubt as to the brand’s identity. The Benson Polo is available in sizes XS – 3XL and in several colors including Iridium Blue, Vedder and Laguna. Retail price is $85. This design is sure to turn some heads.

Sligo Golf Apparel3Sligo’s Pearson Polo is crafted from the same SligoTech performance fabric, giving you the same technical features as the Benson Polo: heat transfer, wicking, antimicrobial, UV protection and extra stretch. The Pearson Polo features a variable stripe pattern that starts high on the chest and works its way down the body of the garment. The 4-button placket allows you to get as much sun as you want on that white chest of yours and the points on the self-collar offer a distinguished look. The Pearson Polo is available in sizes XS – 3XL and in several colors including Iridium Blue, Vedder and Laguna. Retail price is $85.

The Preston Shorts are crafted from the SligoTech performance fabric which features a heat transfer system, moisture wicking technology, UV protection, antimicrobial, 4-way mechanical stretch. The fabric is 90% Polyester/10% Spandex and moves with you throughout the golf swing. They feature a flat front, faux back pocket flaps and contrasting stitching. There’s also some added stitching detail on the back pockets as well as an embroidered Sligo logo on the back right. At first glance, the Preston Shorts do not look like your typical golf shorts, they look more like beachwear. Having worn them a few times on the course, they are very comfortable and breathable. If you’re looking for something to wear on the course that is not the norm, thenSligo Golf Apparel4 these shorts are for you. The Preston Shorts come in sizes 28-40 and are available in a number of colors including Black, White, Khaki and Nitro Blue. Retail price is $90.

The Arcadia Shorts are made from the same SligoTech performance fabric as the Preston shorts and possess all of the same properties. They look more like your traditional golf shorts and are water and wind repellent which is nice on those blustery days. They are light and breathable and the 4-way mechanical stretch fabric moves with you through every phase of the golf swing. There’s a Sligo rubber badge over right back pocket to identify your brand. The Arcadia Shorts are available in sizes 28-40 and in several colors including Bay Blue, Rave and Taxi. Retail price is $85.
