The Katherine Way Collection – Perfection for the Imperfect

1974

katherine-way-2015-3In today’s world of “supersize me,” I can’t think of anyone I know who is what you would consider supermodel material. Consequently, not all women look good in skimpy, flimsy apparel. And what about the ones that refuse to give up on a “number” (aka size) and continue to stuff their size 14 body into a size 6 dress? This should result in a call to the fashion police and subsequent incarceration. But hey, everyone wants to look good, right? Or at least their perception of looking good. But I digress.

katherine-way-2015-1The Katherine Way Collection addresses this niche and their 2015 golf apparel collection proves that whatever size you may be, you can look great both on and off the course.

It all started a few years ago while Katherine was on vacation with her husband in the Caribbean. Wanting to celebrate their last night on the island in style, Katherine decided to go dress shopping at several of the small shops and boutiques near their hotel. As it turned out, she couldn’t find anything appropriate. That’s when she decided to do something about it and create a line of women’s clothing which, in her words is for women who “want to wear something cute and feel good, without broadcasting all of nature’s little flaws.” And the Katherine Way Collection was born.

Travel plays a big part in the company. Katherine loves to travel so much that she names many of her designs after her travel destinations, serving as a reminder of where she has been. In her apparel collection you will find pieces named Vero, Naples, Captiva and Key West and tunics named Marco, Venice and Sanibel. And just to show that she does get out of the state sometimes, there’s St. Simons (GA) and Nola – inspired by New Orleans.

katherine-way-2015-2My wife was fortunate to receive a few pieces from Katherine Way’s 2015 Collection. The aforementioned Nola Dress features ¾ length sleeves that provide just the right amount of coverage. A V-neck collar provides an elegant touch to a comfortable garment that can be worn year round. It’s available in a variety of sophisticated patterns and solid colors and retails for $190.

The Naples Dress has a keyhole neckline and elegant 3/4 sleeves capped off with an adorable ruffle. This little attention to detail makes the Naples perfect for dress up affairs yet comfortable enough to be an everyday garment. It’s available in 6 colors/patterns with a retail price of $190.

The Nola Tunic was inspired by the popular Nola dress; it’s easy to wear and pairs nicely with your favorite skirt or pants. It’s made of 82% Tactel Nylon and 18% Spandex and is available in a variety of colors. The Nola Tunic retails for $150.

katherine-way-2015-4The first thing you notice about this apparel is the colors – bold, bright, vibrant colors. When my wife opened the box of samples she received from Katherine, I believe her exact words were “I have never seen so many bright colors in one box before.” And color is not just limited to their apparel line. The office in Jacksonville Beach, Florida is a lime green cottage with bright pink awnings and sits not far from the beach. All of their clothing is proudly made in the USA – even the tags and labels – and their fabrics are certified with a 50+ UPF rating. The entire collection is full of stylish and fashionably-appropriate golf apparel and resort wear for women with perfect or not so perfect physiques. It is designed to inspire confidence and deliver comfort with simple styles that graciously fit and flatter all figures.

Currently, the Katherine Way Collection is available in more than 300 boutiques and shops. A limited selection is also available online at www.katherineway.com.
