Pro V1/V1x are the most played brand of balls both on the professional tours and by recreational golfers and with good reason…they perform for players at all skill levels.

For the 2025 versions Titleist’s goal was to maintain low spin off the tee to maximize distance while allowing the short scoring clubs to generate more spin, the secret to controlling distance and closer to the pin. This seemingly contradictory endpoint was achieved by a new formula for the core and a redo of the casing layer.

Everyone always asked what the difference between the two is and quickly the Pro V1 has a mid-trajectory versus the higher Pro V1x which has a firmer feel. The other most notable difference is the higher spin off mid and short irons for the Pro V1x compared to the Pro V1. Distance from the tee is also always a key metric and that for these two premium balls that answer is found in the swing speed and launch angle of individual players.
