Travis Mathew – Having a Ball, Creating it All

travis-mathew3You can tell the folks over at Travis Mathew golf apparel have a lot of fun, just look at some of the names of their polos in the Fall 2016 Collection. There’s the Fuggetaboutit Quiet polo, Fear of Flying Dress Blue polo and the Chucky Love, just to name a few.

What is also apparent is the high quality of workmanship and attention to detail that goes into each and every piece of apparel they put out. Many garments feature contrasting trim on pockets, collars and/or sleeve hems. Other intricacies such as scalloped hems and double-needle stitching add nice touches.

Aside from a few red polos, the color palette is primarily greys, blues and greens, nothing obnoxious. No Loudmouth or Rickie Fowler colors here, just a great combination of muted colors that look striking together. Here are a few of our favorites:

The Martin Polo is one of Travis Mathew’s new offerings for the Fall 2016 golf season. This top quality polo is made from 57% luxurious Pima cotton and 43% polyester, giving it a wonderfully soft feel. The company’s Prestige77 fabric is lightweight and offers extra stretch where you need it most. Prestige77 is excellent at wicking moisture away from the body; it’s also extremely breathable and durable. The heathered blue fabric is contrasted with a dark blue collar, sleeve cuffs and the inside of the three-button placket. Travis Mathew’s travis-mathew5trademarked logo is on the left chest and a script logo is on the back of the neck, just so there’s no doubt about which brand you prefer. Two other nice features of the Prestige77 fabric that guys will love (gals too) – it has a great anti-odor agent and is wrinkle-resistant. Out of the dryer and onto the back! The Martin Polo is available in sizes S – XXL with a retail price of $84.95.

travis-mathew4The MK White Polo is a technical garment (96% Polyester, 4% Elastin) crafted from TM’s proprietary Athletic Pique Prestige777 fabric. Others in the industry have dubbed this material “bulletproof” because of its four-way travis-mathew2stretch, performance knit construction and high-abrasion resistance. It also has great moisture wicking capabilities, dries quickly and is quite breathable, something you’ll appreciate on those sweltering summer days. The MK White Polo features a colorblock across the chest that looks like it’s been applied with a paint brush. It’s actually cut-in and sewn on. Other fetravis-mathew1atures include a self-collar with 3-button placket and double-stitching on the collar and sleeve hem. This polo delivers the ultimate in comfort and performance and is well-branded on the left chest and back of the collar. The MK White Polo available in sizes S-XXL and carries a retail price of $74.95.

Just like baseball needs hot dogs and Chevrolet needs apple pie (or something like that), every great top needs a bottom. And Travis Mathew delivers. The Pipe Shorts in Dress Blue/Microchip are going to let everyone know whose brand you prefer and the Proceed with Caution patch on the inside of the fly adds a nice touch of humor. The drape on the legs is outstanding and fits well. The straight side pockets with topstitching and back welt pockets are easy to get in and out of and large/deep enough to keep valuables safe and secure. The 92% Polyester/8% Elastin fabric gives these shorts extra stretch and won’t pinch or bind during any part of the golf swing. Pair your new favorite shorts with your favorite TM polo and you’ll have an unbeatable combination – at least when it comes to fashion. The Pipe Shorts are available in waist sizes 30-40 and retail for $84.95.

The Navy Blue Alves Shorts were also eye catching. I put them in my closet beside all of the other navy blue shorts I have and they seem to stand out. As shorts go, they’re a little heavier than most, which is a good thing when the fall weather turns cool. They are created using Travis Mathew’s Prestige 7 fabric which is a 54% Cotton/42% Tencel/4% Spandex blend and is extremely durable and comfortable. The front pockets are webbed at the bottom, making them a little easier to access and the back welted pockets can accommodate the largest scorecard you can find. There’s even a small 5th pocket on the right side. The 10.5” inseam is long enough to provide ample coverage from the summer sun yet short enough to still add style to your wardrobe. Easy to care for too – wrinkle-resistant and wash and wear. There’s a Travis Mathew tag below waistband, the TM logo at back right pocket and a “Sorry for Being Awesome” patch on the inner fly. The Alves Shorts are available in waist sizes 30-40 and retail for $104.95.
