Under Armour2If you like Under Armour – and what’s not to like about a company with Jordan Spieth as the face of the company – then you’re going to love their Spring 2016 golf apparel. Starting with the Women’s UA 9” Links Shorts which feature Under Armour’s Storm Technology. Storm Technology repels water and is a light and ultra-comfortable fabric that is stretch-woven, meaning it won’t pinch or bind during the golf swing. Women love the stretch-engineered waistband, which has an adjustable inner elastic for a perfect fit, and the polyester/Elastane fabric is quite breathable too, with a moisture-wicking system that transports moisture away from the body quickly and dries fast. The Under Armour Women’s UA 9″ Links Shorts feature a five-pocket design with a fifth pocket on the front right side, perfect for tees and ball markers. They are available in women’s sizes 0-16 and in several colors including colors: Cobalt, Black, Vanilla and White. Retail price is $75. Equally appealing – maybe even more so to male playing partners – are the Links 5” Shorts, the same shorts with 4” less leg. They too are available in sizes 0-16 and in several different colors: Harmony Red, Overcast Gray, White, Vanilla, Black, Mega Magenta and Cobalt. An embroidered UA logo above the right rear pocket leaves no doubt as to the brand you’re wearing. Retail price is $69.99.

Under Armour7Now that you’ve found the perfect pair of golf shorts, you’ll need the perfect top to go with it and that’s where the Zinger Sleeveless Polo comes in. This fitted garment rides tight to the skin – but not too tight and is made from a 4-way stretch fabric that will move with you throughout your golf swing. The technology in this fabric is amazing. The Moisture Transport System wicks sweat away from your body and keeps you dry while the anti-microbial technology keeps you smelling fresh! There’s also 30+ UPF, which keeps you protected from the sun’s harmful rays. The soft anti-pick, anti-pill fabric has a cleaner, snag-free finish. The Zinger Sleeveless Polo features a self-fabric collar and 5-button placket. It’s available in sizes XS-XL and in several colors including Sky Blue, True Gray Heather, Black, White, Cobalt and Harmony Red. It’s also available in a Colorblocked or striped version. There’s an embroidered UA logo on the yoke of the neck. Retail price is $54.99. The Zinger is also available as a ¼ Zip Long Sleeve Pullover in sizes XS-XL and in White, Cobalt and Mega Magenta. Retail price on the pullover is $69.99

Under Armour6For men, Under Armour has a lot to offer in the way of colors and designs. I’m particularly fond of the UA Match Play Patterned Shorts which offer a little bit looser fit for more comfort thanks to the soft, stretchy woven fabric and the stretch engineered waistband. You can move comfortably through your entire golf swing without any pinching or binding and the moisture wicking technology in these shorts keeps you dry throughout your round. The 10.5” inseam is the perfect length and the embroidered UA logo above the right back pocket identifies the brand. The flat front four-pocket design features an embroidered UA logo below the left pocket. These shorts look great and are real comfortable, no matter the weather conditions. The UA Match Play Patterned Shorts are available in sizes 30-42 and in Graphite, Steel, Steel/Graphite and Ultra Blue. Retail price is $69.99.

Under Armour5In case you live in a colder climate, you may want to forget about shorts and consider the UA Storm Elemental Golf Pants. UA Storm technology repels water without sacrificing breathability and the ColdGear Infrared technology uses a soft, thermo-conductive inner coating to absorb & retain your body heat. The Storm Elemental Pants have a fuller cut, 4-way stretch fabrication and the same stretch-engineered waistband found in the Match Play Shorts, making them extremely comfortable. There’s also a UA embroidered logo at the bottom of the left front pocket. They are available in waist sizes 30-42 and in Cobalt Blue. Retail price is $69.99.

No matter which UA bottoms you choose, you’re going to need a reliable belt to keep your britches on, and the UA Webbed Belt gets the job done and looks good doing it. The Webbed Belt fits up to a Men’s size 42, just follow the customizable directions on the packaging. The metal buckle features an embossed UA logo; there’s even a bottle opener conveniently added to the back of the buckle. The UA Webbed Belt is available in 10 colors and retails for $20.00.

Under Armour4All of the UA polos I checked out offered a fuller cut, which is more comfortable for us bigger fellas. The Playoff Polo has an updated performance fit and the 4-way stretch fabric moves with you throughout the golf swing. Not only does this polo offer superb moisture wicking, it also features anti-odor technology to keep you smelling fresh throughout your round and 30+ UPF protection against the sun’s harmful rays. The self-collar and anti-pill, snag-free finish keep this polo looking sharp wear after wear. The Playoff Polo is available in sizes S-XXXL and in 34 colors. Retail price is $64.99.

In case you play a lot of summer rounds in the heat of Florida or deserts of Arizona, check out the HeatGear ArmourVent Polo. This polo features ArmourVent mesh panels in the front and back of the garment. These mesh panels are crafted from a light, stretchy, durable, fast-drying fabric and are perforated to deliver true breathability and keep you cool under the hottest conditions. It has the same technology as the Playoff Polo: 4-way stretch fabric, anti-odor and moisture wicking technologies. It’s a great looking shirt and the same one that Jordan Spieth wore on Sunday of the 2015 Masters. The HeatGear ArmourVent Polo is available in sizes S-XXXL and in Black, White. Red, Graphite and Academy. Retail price is $79.99.

Under Armour3My favorite Under Armour polo is the UA coldblack Engineered Stripe Polo. This yarn-dyed fabric is stretchy, light & breathable so it can handle the hottest days, and UA’s revolutionary coldblack technology reflects the sun’s infrared and heat rays, making even dark colors cooler to the touch. The same moisture wicking, anti-odor and UPF technologies found in other polo are also a part of this one. The stripes are at various widths apart from each other which really catches your eye and the three contrasting colored stripUnder Armour1es on the chest really stand out. There’s also a UA Logo on the yoke of the neck and the left sleeve. The UA coldblack Engineered Stripe Polo is available in sizes S-XXXL and in two colors: Stealth Gray and Squadron (light blue). If you like crazy colors like I do, the Squadron features two neon green stripes, which match a pair of shorts I have perfectly. Dare to be bold! Retail price is $74.99.

The UA Storm Sweaterfleece ¼ Zip Vest is designed with comfort in mind. The same UA Storm technology is used and repels water while still remaining quite breathable. The lightweight heathered fleece has a soft, brushed inner layer to keep the warmth in and the cold out. It’s the perfect garment for those chilly early morning rounds. The UA Storm Sweaterfleece ¼ Zip Vest is available in sizes S-XXXL and in either Stealth Gray or Academy. Retail price is $64.99.

For just lounging around the house after a round, I find the Jordan Spieth UA Box Logo t-shirt one of the most comfortable in my vast collection; maybe it’s because of the looser fit. The ultra-soft charged cotton® tri-blend fabric has a natural heathered look to it. It’s light, soft and dries fast thanks to UA’s Moisture Transport System. The anti-odor technology keeps me smelling fresh too. And the print on the shirt leaves no doubt as to who your favorite touring pro is – Jordan Spieth of course! The UA Box Logo T-shirt is available in sizes S-XXL and in three colors: Black, Forest Green and True Gray Heather. Retail price is $29.99.

This should give you a good idea of what Under Armour has to offer for the 2016 spring golf season. They are at the forefront of garment technology and offer a wide variety of styles and colors in tops and bottoms for both men and women.
