About this time of year, people in the northern part of the US and Canada start thinking about spring. And, although it has been relatively mild across the US thus far, there still hasn’t been much golf weather, so golfers start getting ready.
There are plenty of training aids that can be used indoors these days and, if you’re tuning up your golf game, why not start thinking about tuning up your 2016 golf wardrobe? And, what better apparel to be seen on the fairways this year than Puma!
Puma has really kicked it up a notch with the release of their Spring 2016 collection of golf attire for men and women. They’ve launched a direct attack on both hot and cold weather. What I mean by that is that their PWRCOOL and PWRWARM technologies will keep players cool in warm weather and vice versa. Here’s how they work.
PWRCOOL works off of a sweat activated Xylitol print that actively cools the body when it overheats, optimizing performance as it manages the body’s core temperature. PWRWARM on the other hand uses an innovative ceramic print on the fabric that retains body heat by creating a warmer micro climate without the bulk or weight of traditional cold weather fabrics. Couple these features with Puma’s CoolMax fabrics and their Dri-Release moisture management materials and you have a company that is focused on using thermoregulation technologies to keep golfers comfortable while performing at their best no matter what the weather has in store.
The use of a wide spectrum of bright colors continues – I’m sure this keeps Rickie happy! Thin stripes, wide stripe, stripes that fade; dark colors, bright colors – Puma’s got it all. Here’s a few pieces they sent us to review;
The Puma PWR Warm 1/4 Zip Popovers are a must have for cold weather golf – that’s below 60° in Florida. These 1/4 zip pullovers are designed with a stand collar and an adjustable bungee at hem with a chord lock for warmth and comfort. There’s also the infamous Puma Cat logo on left chest and Puma Golf badge on back. If it’s warmth you’re looking for, it’s warmth you’ll get with this specially engineered garment.

Ever since I started wearing Puma in high school (mid 70’s), they have been one of my favorites and they continue to be. The styles and colors they offer are just wild enough for me to wear – after all, if you wear something that is loud and crazy, you better have the game to back it up. With Puma, you’ll get noticed. And, if you’re wearing an orange hat, you’ll most likely hear some sort of Rickie Fowler reference.
