Under Armour Golf Shoes for Spring 2018 – A Plethora of Styles for Both Men and Women

2154

Under Armour continues to delve into all things golf. Not only are they doing it, they are doing it well. Whether it’s quality and appealing golf apparel for both men and women, eyewear, or golf bags – through an agreement with Sun Mountain – The Under Armour name is visible throughout the golf world.

Once again, Jordan Spieth has lent his name to Under Armour for a second pair of golf shoes, appropriately named The Spieth 2. Actually, Spieth had a little more say so in it and actually provided some tremendous insight to the designers. It’s a follow up to last year’s signature shoe, which was pretty impressive.

This year’s design is 100% waterproof, thanks to the addition of GORE-TEX. Even with the addition of this incredible material, the shoe remains incredibly breathable. The Clarino microfiber leather provides added durability and support; it’s a lot softer too! The Smart Weave upper not only gives this shoe a unique look, it offers the ultimate in lightweight support.

Working your way down the shoe, you’ll find a TPU outsole along with a lightweight EVA midsole that offers more responsive cushioning every step of the way. A removable EVA insole offers premium comfort for the bottom of your feet and an updated integrated lacing system with an adjustable closure for a perfect fit, With the Spieth 2 shoes, your feet stay locked in place, whether you’re powering through a drive or hovering over a putt. The Spieth 2 shoe is also available with the BOA closure system, which allows you to evenly tighten the shoe with the twist of a button. The mechanism is conveniently located on the top of the tongue.

Turn the shoe over and the sole has Jordan Spieth written all over it. Spieth was instrumental in helping the design team at Under Armour create a lockdown traction system that would keep him and his unique swing connected to the ground. You’ll see that there are a couple of different spikes used on the shoe. The normal (silver) spikes are Champ Zarma while the new shape (red) is the Under Armour RST Spike, which stands for ‘Rotational Resistance’. The RST spike splays out when you put weight on it, eliminating damage to the greens. At the same time, the contact points actually give you traction and allow you to walk the course in comfort.

With the new Spieth 2 shoes, you get good looks, superior comfort and unsurpassed performance. These shoes will keep you connected to the ground and not leave your feet hurting after walking 18 holes.

The new Under Armour Spieth 2 Golf Shoes are available in half sizes 7 – 15 and in five colorways: White/Black, White/Metallic Silver, White/Academy, Black/Graphite and Steel/Black. Retail price is $200; the BOA version will set you back $220.

One of the most comfortable pairs of golf shoes I have ever slipped on my feet are the UA Tempo Sport 2 shoes, which are new this year. The Clarino microfiber upper is extremely breathable and the lightweight waterproof membrane keeps your feet cool & dry. There’s also a built-in bootie that acts like a sock and provides added cushioning close to the foot for added comfort. It’s such a good fit that I have yet to wear socks in them. Another nice feature are the laces. I’m not sure if it’s the spacing but they are really easy to tighten the entire shoe. No more fumbling with the laces at each eyelet and struggling to get them tight. Just a simple tug and the whole shoe tightens…evenly. On the sole of the shoe you’ll see UA’s patented Rotational Resistance Spike which keeps your foot and the ground well-connected. Under Armour is so confident that these shoes will perform, they offer a two-year limited waterproof warranty. The Tempo Sport 2 golf shoes are available in half sizes 8 – 15 and in either Black/Red or Steel/Mediterranean (Detroit Lion colors). Retail price is $150.

Ladies are going to love Under Armour’s Performance Spikeless Golf Shoe if for no other reason than the colors! The fit is engineered for a woman’s foot, specifically to support a narrower foot structure. The microfiber upper is both comfortable and breathable and offers excellent lightweight support. UA’s Storm technology repels water without sacrificing breathability; in fact the carry a 2-year limited waterproof warranty. Traction is never a problem with Under Armour’s Rotational Resistance outsole which also delivers on-course flexibility. The cork covered EVA footbed and midsole is both lightweight and responsive. The UA Performance Spikeless Women’s golf shoes are available in half sizes 5 – 10 and in either White/Brilliance or White/Moroccan Blue. Retail price is $130.

These are just a few of the current Under Armour golf footwear offerings. UA footwear is available at most major golf retailers or on the Under Armour website, www.underarmour.com.
