PXG’s founder and CEO Bob Parsons has said he can’t understand why golfers are content to give up distance in a driver for it to be easier to hit so he set his staff to find a way around that problem.

The company’s solution is the new 0311 Black Ops driver offering low spin and high launch while being very forgiving. The three interchangeable sole weights can provide very high MOI values and are available in 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, and 20-gram options.

There is a second head design targeted at better players and professionals called the Black Ops Tour-1 which sells for $50 more. The head is taller, and the crown has additional curvature, ball flight is more penetrating than the game-improvement model.
Ball launch is lower and so is spin but forgiveness is less.

As part of the Black Ops family PXG has also introduced Fairway Woods and Hybrids. Both have carbon fiber heads and make use of a stainless steel face that is thinner and more flexible than the previous models. Pricing is $349.99 each for the fairway woods and $299.99 each for the Black Ops hybrids.
